It shows them in score order, so deleted posts aren't necessarily at the bottom (but there is often correlation between low scores and deletions). (more) |

@#36396, what's the alternative? How do you combat irresponsible/unethical players without also hurting the people we serve -- who should be able to find us by search engines, access the sites without first having to create accounts, etc? We can't block all bad actors but we can block *some*; isn't... (more) |

I'm still pondering question 2. I do want us to have a way for users to communicate with each other outside of comments, the only thing we have now is the Discord server _if_ both people have accounts there, and I want to do better. There's some tooling in development that I think could be part of ... (more) |

A: What do you do if you think a user is stalking/harassing you in comments? Please flag any individual post/comment that seems problematic. A flag doesn't mean "this is objectively delete-worthy" but rather "hey mods, please take a look at this". You can always use a custom flag to explain why you're raising it. The problem with just addressing individual occurrences is... (more) |

A: Please review a new Accessibility Statement and Accessibility Policy Well, it was committed to GitHub by the target date, but then things happened... But finally, the accessibility statement and the detailed accessibility guidance are both live in the Help Center on all communities. The latter contains a lot of helpful tips for making posts more accessible, ranging ... (more) |

I agree that consistency is important. Since the post/edit times that are nearby are fuzzed, I'm leaning toward fuzzing the close time too, but that's just one person's opinion. (more) |

Comment | Post #291946 |
Seems like we should either fuzz the time (like the "36 minutes ago" elsewhere in your screenshot) or show exact time with timezone. Which would be better? (This is a question for everyone, not just the OP.) (more) |

Thanks for confirming the fix in prod. (We tested on the dev server where noisy edits don't get in anyone's way, but I didn't have a convenient test case here.) (more) |

The bug with blocking your previous suggested edits is now fixed. The main issue of why the ability wasn't recalculated remains. (more) |

@#8049 I think that's the proposal in the question, if I'm understanding correctly. That would work too, but thinking about how to do that made me step back and ask if we should even be showing that *here* in the first place. I'm raising possibilities, not asserting a preference. (more) |

I wonder if we should make all the tabs uniform by dropping that right panel -- keep it for *pages about community content*, but drop it from *pages about users*. Maybe? It's inconsistent now, because some of those pages are necessarily wide to begin with, but it makes me wonder if we should drop i... (more) |

A: What recourse is there for incorrect close/delete? The best place to raise concerns about any specific actions -- whether by mods or by the community -- is the per-community Meta category. Differences of opinion about closing questions might really be differences of opinion about scope or policy, or they might be rooted in differing knowledge. A co... (more) |

Thanks for pointing out the lack of a reopen flag. If we had one, then curators would be able to see that flag and respond to it. I've generalized this in [this change request on GitHub](https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/1354). (more) |

Thanks for the help with testing! I did get a notification when you pinged me, which is strange because by commenting in the thread I was automatically following it. (I was wondering if the code was only notifying non-followers on @-mentions but that code was broken. But if so, I shouldn't have go... (more) |

I can confirm that you are following the thread, so you should have received a notification with or without the explicit ping. What's odd is that we haven't pushed any updates in that time window. We'll look into this -- thanks for the report. (more) |

It looks like it's because it's your suggestion. I just checked the code, and two conditions must apply: (you have the edit ability or it's your post), and it's not your own suggested edit. I guess it would make sense to drop that last part? If you have the ability _now_, you'd be able to make tha... (more) |

I vote for making their status more obvious rather than removing them. A consistent layout with the "you can't do this" signal for those elements seems friendlier, and also averts possible bugs with things incorrectly disappearing. (more) |

A: What is the policy for Codidact data use by other, especially for-profit organizations? We have just posted an official statement from the board of directors. A third way to get to a suggested edit is in response to a notification of an edit suggestion on one of your posts -- so you weren't viewing the post _or_ the list of edits before going there. "View posts" and "View suggested edits" is probably still the way to go, but mentioning it in case you have... (more) |

A: Seeing which moderator marked my flag as helpful (which should be hidden) We currently show who deleted a post -- regardless of whether anything was flagged -- to anybody who can see the post. This seems to me like a good thing for transparency. If it was your own post, you don't know whether there were any flags. Ditto if you were not involved (didn't flag, didn't de... (more) |
