Answer A: How do I "answer" a feature request or a bug report?
For bugs, you can use answers to add more information if you have it, for example if you've seen the reported problem under different circumstances or if you have seen something work that is reported as a bug. Most of the time, as you said, a bug report is "answered" by a status-complete tag after a...

Answer A: Post owner should always be able to approve or reject edits
This is a bug in the front end (fix is under review now), but despite the incorrectly-shown message, you can in fact approve edits to your own posts. The buttons are active and they work. We're sorry for the misleading message; it should be fixed soon.

Comment Post #290299 Probably a display-only bug. The "you can't review this" notice incorrectly appears, but so do the buttons. It looks like you can in fact approve edits to your own posts even if you can't approve others. We're looking into this.

Answer A: New and interesting question feeds without email
There is an RSS feed for each category, which is now linked at the top of the category post list. We've removed the "subscribe" button, which was for the email subscriptions, because those subscription links are already in the right sidebar. We don't have a global (network-wide) feed yet.

Answer A: Get rid of minimum character requirements
Status completed: title length, body length, custom flags. -- Minimum title and body length are configurable per category. I'll lower the body length here on Meta; if other communities want to lower these limits, please let us know via a support request on your meta. We have an open issue t...

Comment Post #290268 We have some pending changes to help with redaction, including rollback. There's also a proposal (I don't recall where this stands) to raise an auto-flag for redactions. If those aren't enough, we can add more restrictions. On the one hand we want to get things like API keys off of the public site...

Answer A: Indicate change in reputation in voting summary
Counter-proposal: how about if we add the rep settings at the top of the Vote Summary page, instead of computing and adding them to each entry? I'm imagining something like this: > Reputation for up/down votes: > Q&A: Question +5/-2, Answer +10/-2 > Sandbox: Article +0/-0 > Meta: Questio...

Answer A: Confusing percentage on Edit Posts Ability page
The ability is based on the Wilson score of all your edit suggestions, yes, so that one declined one counts against you. There's been lots of discussion about (a) whether the thresholds are too high and (b) whether we should revamp the abilities system to use other metrics (in addition or instead). ...

Answer A: How does "@username" work in comment threads?
> When a comment does not include "@username", who is notified? People who are subscribed to the thread are notified. Anybody can subscribe. You are automatically subscribed (but can unsubscribe) if you are the author of the post. > When a comment does include "@username", is that user always...

Answer A: Grace period for immediately noticed small errors
If we allow immediate updates to be "folded into" the original post, I would want to block it if anybody has interacted with the post -- if someone voted in that first minute, then an unannounced edit shouldn't be ok. Yes this is rare, but sometimes you get these quirks of timing. (It's happened to...

Comment Post #290079 Redirecting to the dashboard view for logged-in users is a good idea. Logged-in users already know what Codidact is, so they don't need the explanations that are on the static landing page. For first-time visitors we do want to show more than just a list of sites and their categories. It would be ...

Answer A: Missing "Participate" ability on one community
That is...bizarre. I've manually granted Participate and Participate Everywhere to you, and also to Karl Knechtel who reported the same problem in a comment. I have no idea how that happened and will raise it with people who have database access to see if we can figure it out and if anyone else was...

Comment Post #289911 When Codidact gets that large, one option communities could use (that SO doesn't have) is to collect well-developed canonicals into a new category and direct people there. You'd still be able to close new questions as duplicates across the category boundary. I imagine *developing* the Q&A in its us...

Answer A: Notification on edits to voted post
That could get noisy if it were the default behavior. But maybe we should consider, instead, an option where you can choose to be notified of new activity on a specific post. We already have an option to follow new comment threads on a post; should we generalize that to following new activity, whic...

Comment Post #290006 (I didn't know my activity was so far out of the normal range.) Maybe we should think about something narrower, and opt-in not opt-out, where you can choose to be notified of vote changes on a post-by-post basis. Sort of like following new comment threads, maybe a more general "follow changes" th...

Comment Post #289911 Oh, I think I see. I meant to be expansive: if you think it's useful here, now or for the future (like canonicals), then don't let the fact that SO has a version of it stop you. We can make the Codidact copy *better* than theirs! :-)

Comment Post #289911 I'm sorry I was unclear. I didn't mean I expect authors to care *forever* and maintain their own posts for years; people come and go, as you said, and this is why other people can edit too, or write better answers. I meant that if there is somebody who is here now who cares about the answer to a qu...
